He received his primary and secondary education in Jaffa, Nazareth and Nazareth, and graduated from Tel Aviv University in 1984 in Arabic literature and history.

 

He was active during his university studies in the political and cultural fields, and participated in many seminars, and published his production in many Palestinian newspapers, such as: Al-Fajr, Al-Shaab, Al-Bayader, Al-Kateb, Al-Shira’, Al-Ittihad, Al-Jadeed, Al-Hadaf, Al-Mitaq, the Palestine Liberation Organization newspaper “Palestine Al-Thawra” and others. .

 

In 1979, he won the second prize for the Al-Aqsa Literary Festival, which was organized by the College of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion (currently Al-Quds University).

 

He left his university studies for a master's degree and became involved in political and journalistic work. He worked as a literary editor and editor-in-chief for Al-Sinara newspaper, published in Nazareth, for 3 years in the years 1986-1989.

 

He was the editor-in-chief of Al-Watan newspaper, which was published by the Progressive Movement, which is the most important tributary of the Palestinian movement in the land occupied in 1948 (inside Palestine).

 

During this period, he became involved in the progressive movement and was elected a member of its Central Committee and the Central Constitution Committee. He was the presidential candidate for the Yafa Nazareth Local Council, and the secretary of the Yafa Nazareth branch.

 

He left the movement after severe disagreements and returned to the press, then joined the Arab Democratic Party and worked as deputy editor-in-chief in his newspaper Al-Diyar, but he left the party less than a year later, due to disagreements he considered principled.

 

In 1990, he participated in an attempt to establish the Palestinian Journalists Association in cooperation with delegates from other newspapers (Al-Sinara, Al-Ittihad, All the Arabs, Sawt al-Haq and al-Hurriya, al-Aswar, al-Mawakeb, and others), but this association did not come to light.

 

In 1992, he issued Al-Tala'i, a monthly political and cultural magazine, in which he launched several press campaigns that received wide responses, considering that what he does is the real press that must reveal everything to the reader. But the magazine ceased publication after about a year.

 

In 1993, he established the “Vanguards Publications” office, which published several books by Palestinian writers, including: Dr. Tayseer Al-Nashif, Head of the Arabic Translation Department at the United Nations, Abdel Rahim Iraqi – Head of the Prisoner Supporters Association, Hanna Abu Hanna – Head of the Palestinian Writers Syndicate, and Abdel Aziz Abu Asba – Head of the Ennahda Movement. 51 books were published from these publications.

 

In 1999, he took the initiative to organize a monthly cultural symposium to be held in Nazareth under the name “Al Tala’i Cultural Forum”. 68 Palestinian writers and poets joined this forum. This forum organized more than fifty literary seminars, most of them were in the city of Nazareth. The Association of Literature in Taybeh, and a large number of schools and cultural centers in Rahat, Umm al-Fahm, Lakiya, Kafr Manda, Lod, Jisr al-Zarqa, Kafr Manda, Baqa al-Gharbiyye, Yafa Nazareth, Nazareth, Nahaf, Acre, Sakhnin, Kafr Qassem, Ailout, and others.

 

In the name of “Al-Tala’i Publications” he took the initiative, in cooperation with a number of cultural organizations (led by the Palestinian Writers Union in Ramallah and the Palestinian Writers Association in Nazareth), to organize the first Palestinian poetry festival in 2000. The festival was held in Kafr Manda under the auspices of (the National Committee for Local Authorities in Israel). It is the parliament of the Palestinians inside, and a large number of poets from 51 Palestinian towns participated in it, in addition to representatives of all political activities in the country.

 

The second Palestinian poetry festival was held in the city of Tamra, and the third festival was held in the city of Nazareth, and the participation in them was very wide, and included the presence of representatives of the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, writers unions and cultural bodies.

 

In 2000, his play “The Human” won the second prize for theatrical texts competition for “Al-Midan Theatre”. It talks about the life of the great Palestinian writer Khalil Sakakini.

 

In 2004 he won the first prize for the story from the College of Education and Teacher Training in Beit Berl.

 

He retired from work in 2003 for health reasons. The activity of the Al-Tala'i Cultural Forum was suspended. He has since been active in a number of forums and websites.
