Born in 1942; from the African community of the Old City of Jerusalem; worked as a nurse in Qalqilya in the 1950s; was a key member of Fateh in the Old City of Jerusalem in 1967; planted a bomb in a Jerusalem cinema frequented by Zionists in 1967, for which she was sentenced to life imprisonment in by Israel Oct. 1967; was released for health reasons in Nov. 1977 after serving ten years in Ramleh Prison and deported to Jordan; then settled in Lebanon and worked in politics as well as a nurse; moved to Tunisia with the PLO in 1982; returned in July 1994 to Jericho from Jordan in order to set up the PA women’s police force as whose commander she serves since.Source
