Sheikh Taha bin Sheikh Abdul Rahim bin Sheikh Abdul Karim al-Hanbali was born in Nablus in 1888 to a family whose lineage traces back to the Companion Ja'far ibn Abi Talib, the Prophet's cousin and a martyr of the Battle of Mu'tah. He studied in Nablus under several of its scholars, including Sheikh Munib Hashim, Sheikh Rashid al-Bitar, Sheikh Rashid Hashim, Sheikh Ahmad al-Khamash, and Sheikh Daoud Hashim. He continued his studies in Damascus, where he benefited greatly from its scholars. He returned to Nablus having memorized the Holy Quran, succeeding his father as imam and preacher at the Hanbali Mosque.
He worked as a teacher at the girls' school, from which pioneering female students and leading teachers in Nablus graduated, including Nada Abdul Hadi, Bakriya Abu Ghazaleh, and Nada Qamhawi. He served as the administrator of the Hanbali Mosque endowment, which encompassed the villages of Sanur, Siris, and Jaba'. He authored the book "Risalat al-Kalam al-Mufid fi Ma'rifat Ahkam al-Tajwid" (A Treatise on Beneficial Speech in Understanding the Rules of Tajwid). He passed away in Nablus.
