Shaykh Ahmad ibn Yahya al-Karmi (1591 AD – 15 March 1680 AD) (1000 AH – 14 Safar 1091 AH) and his full name Ahmad ibn Yahya ibn Yusuf ibn Yusuf ibn Ahmad ibn Abi Bakr ibn Yusuf ibn Ahmad al-Karmi, his surname Abu al-Abbas, and his surname Shihab al-Din, is a Muslim scholar and jurist, born in the city of Tulkarm, Palestine, and one of the most prominent scholars of Hanbala and one of the most prominent scholars of Islam in the eleventh century of migration.

Shaykh Ahmad ibn Yahya ibn Yusuf ibn Abi Bakr ibn Ahmad ibn Abi Bakr ibn Yusuf ibn Ahmad al-Karmi, surname Abu al-Abbas, and surname Shihab al-Din, born in Tulkarm, Palestine, in 1000 AH, corresponding to 1591 AD;[4] where he was born in the Faqha neighborhood of the Old City of Tulkarm The Jurists Quarter is one of the most famous historical religious neighborhoods in Palestine that included elite religious scholars, where the neighborhood was directed by a group of religious scholars, including Sheikh Merhi al-Karmi, Sheikh Ali bin Mansour al-Karmi, Sheikh Muhammad Saeed al-Jamal and others.
Shaykh Ahmad ibn Yahya al-Karmi grew up in his hometown of Tulkarm in a family known as science, and received in Tulkarm the Islamic sciences and the Qur'an, and then left for Cairo in 1026 AH, corresponding to 1617 AD, where he took his knowledge about the scholars of Al-Azhar, and later became one of the most prominent scholars of Al-Azhar.

Shaykh Ahmad ibn Yahya al-Karmi lived in a family famous for science; his uncle was the scholar jurist Merhi al-Karmi.

Death
Shaykh Ahmad ibn Yahya al-Karmi died in Cairo on Friday night 14 Safar 1091 AH, corresponding to March 15, 1680 AD, at the age of 89, and was buried in Cairo next to the tomb of his uncle Faqih Merhi al-Karmi.

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Fadlallah al-Muhabibi said of Shaykh Ahmad ibn Yahya al-Karmi: "He was one of the working scholars and ascetic saints, and he was engaged in religious sciences, did not hesitate to any of the heads of state, satisfied with the ease of livelihood, adhering to the prayer of the congregation in the first row in the five times, little speech, good conduct, a collector of the qualities of perfection, with nothing to disgrace him in his religion or worldliness."
Shaykh Kamal al-Din al-Ghazi said of him: "He is the virtuous sheikh of the noble scholar Shihab al-Din Abu al-Abbas al-Karmi."
Shaykh Hasan ibn 'Umar al-Shatti said of him: "He is the virtuous sheikh of the noble scholar and jurist."
His son, Sheikh Abdullah al-Karmi, told of him: "He saw the Almighty right to sleep three times."
