Ziad Ashish, a Jordanian player who
came to the top of the world rankings for the second time in the sport of
boxing, after achieving many achievements, the latest of which was winning the
gold medal in the Golden Belt Championship, which was held in Morocco in early
2023.
Ashish said during his interview
with the BBC that he was very happy to be ranked first in the world, saying:
"It is a very nice feeling to be ranked first in the world" in this
sport.
Ashish referred to the difficulties
and challenges he went through while growing up in a Palestinian refugee camp
in Jordan, and the difficult financial conditions of his family that pushed him
to achieve this global achievement. So he sent me to learn boxing in one of the
sports clubs, and with time I found myself in this sport until I fell in love
with it and became very attached to it.”
The 24-year-old Ashish noted that
the challenges that he and the boxing players face are many, including being
careful to avoid injuries, because they affect the player’s career, in addition
to the importance of training continuously without interruption because the
sport of boxing requires high concentration, especially during the pre-training
periods. Participate in any tournament, as described.
