Hana Barakat (born 1999 in Los Angeles) is a Palestinian sprinter specialising in the 100, 200 and 400 metres. Her training is supervised by American coach Cedric Hill, whose father is a hockey player who previously competed in the Olympics as part of the American delegation in 1984. She teaches sports at Brown University.
Her life
Hana Barakat was born to a Palestinian family in Los Angeles in 1999.
Her father, Mohamed Barakat, competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in hockey and represented the United States.
Competitions
In January / June 2021, Hana participated in the 22nd Arab Championship and qualified in the women's 200 race and ranked seventh out of 14 players, and at the time she set a new record at the Palestinian national level with a time of 23.39 seconds. She is a Brown University sprinter and a champion of American universities in the 400-meter relay.
Tokyo 2020 Olympics
Hana is one of five Palestinians representing their country at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. He competed in the women's 100m.
