Hanaa Barakat (born in 1999 in Los Angeles) is a Palestinian runner specializing in the 100, 200, and 400 meters. Her training is supervised by American coach Cedric Hill, whose father is a hockey player and previously participated in the Olympics as part of the American delegation in 1984. [1] She studies sports at Brown University .
Her life
Hanaa Barakat was born to a Palestinian family in Los Angeles in 1999.
Her father, Muhammad Barakat, participated in the 1984 Summer Olympics in hockey and represented the United States of America at the time.
Competitions
In January/June 2021, Hana participated in the 22nd Arab Championship and qualified in the women’s 200 race, finishing seventh out of 14 athletes. At that time, she set a new record at the Palestinian national level with a time of 23.39 seconds. She is a runner at Brown University and the American university champion in the 400 meter relay.
Tokyo 2020 Olympics
Hanaa is one of five Palestinians to represent their country at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. She competes in the women's 100 meters .
