Raed Zidan ( in English : Raed Zidan ) (October 20, 1971 in Kuwait -) is a Kuwaiti- Palestinian . He was the first Palestinian to reach the summit of Mount Everest and the first Palestinian to reach the seven summits of the mountains .
Early life
Zidane was born in Kuwait to a Palestinian family from the town of Kafr Laqif in the Qalqilya Governorate, northwest of the West Bank, in the State of Palestine.
Climbing Mount Everest
Raed Zidan is a mountaineer, and the first Palestinian to reach seven mountain peaks , including Vinson Massif in Antarctica and Mount Kilimanjaro and Aconcagua in Argentina . Zidane was part of a four-member group called Arabs of Altitude, which included the first Saudi woman, Raha Muharraq , the first Qatari man, Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani and the Iranian, Masoud Mohammed, which reached the summit of Mount Everest in May 2013.

On December 23, 2013, the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, awarded climber Raed Zidane the Gold Medal of Merit and Excellence.
