Nablus - An- Najah News - Student Moataz Daraghmeh from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at An-Najah University participated in the AMEE conference, which was held in the French city of Lyon during the period from 8/27/2022 to 8/31/2022.
This conference is considered one of the largest conferences concerned with the field of medical education. Student Moataz was chosen as the only Palestinian student out of dozens who applied for this opportunity and out of 500 medical students who applied from all over the world for this opportunity. Only 48 students were chosen, and he represented An-Najah National University . And the State of Palestine during the conference.
Student Moataz’s participation included presenting a research paper on behalf of An- Najah National University , entitled
“Surgical skills in times of war: How medical education can act as a key player?
It was admired and supported by the audience, and the paper focused on the suffering and persecution that we experience as a Palestinian people, and on the role of An-Najah National University and the Medical Students Union in providing the necessary courses to prepare medical students to deal with
emergency situations in light of the state of instability that the Palestinian people are experiencing.
The student Moataz obtained a recognized certificate in medical and clinical education through his participation in the course:
Essential Skills in Medical Education - Clinical Teaching Course, which is considered one of the most important courses in the field of medical and clinical education, as the course focuses on preparing newly graduated doctors and helping old graduates to Teaching them the mechanisms and foundations of clinical education for students, developing the best effective education strategies, how to deal with patients and ensuring their psychological and health safety, in addition to attending many activities and training workshops that took place on the sidelines of the conference.
