Under the slogan “Youth and Future Culture,” Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Egyptian Minister of Culture Helmy El-Namnam opened, yesterday morning, Thursday, January 26, the Palestinian pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair, in its forty-eighth session, which is held by the Egyptian General Book Authority. Reception: Undersecretary of the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, Abdel Nasser Saleh.
The embassy’s cultural advisor, Muhammad Al-Aza’ar, the director of the embassy’s media and cultural center, Naji Al-Naji, and Nawal Helles, director of the Palestine Book Fair, participated in the reception.
The Palestinian participation in the exhibition included many activities that included more than eleven Palestinian creators participating in the exhibition’s work, including poetry evenings, discussions of Palestinian books, and many cultural meetings.
For his part, Ismail expressed his appreciation for Palestine's role and cultural leadership, appreciating the national symbolic gift given to him by the Palestinian Ministry of Culture.
The activities of the Cairo International Book Fair, which will be held on the grounds of the Exhibition City, in Nasr City, will continue until the tenth of next February, and Palestine is considered a permanent participant in the annual fair.
