Dr. Imad Al-Sayrafi is a highly qualified academic and development professional with extensive experience in the field. As the Director of the Center for Development Studies at Birzeit University and the Director of the Master’s Program in Community Development, he plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic and research agenda in Palestine.
With a doctoral degree in international development from the University of Vienna and a master's degree in gender and development studies from Birzeit University, Dr. Al-Sayrafi possesses a solid educational background. He has over 15 years of experience working as a researcher at the Center for Development Studies, where he has been involved in various research projects focusing on rural development, social transformations, and disability rights in Palestine.
His research interests span across the sociology of development, indigeneity theory, and the development of theoretical frameworks for understanding development from a southern perspective. Through his teaching and publications, Dr. Al-Sayrafi contributes significantly to the advancement of knowledge and the promotion of social change in Palestinian society.
