Information
1935, Nablus. DFLP political leader, and its representative on the PLO-EC. Wounded by a rubber bullet to the back of his head when Israeli troops fired on an anti-settlement demonstration on 1998. Acted as an adviser to ‘Arafat at Camp David in 2000, although his participation appears to have been minimal. Was arrested in late 2002 by Israeli forces, and was released on June 2003. Run for the Palestinian Presidential election in 2005 gaining tiny percent of the votes.
