Kamel Ahmed Hassan Hamid (Abu Fadi; born on November 1, 1963 in Bethlehem ) is a Palestinian politician . He was governor of Jericho and Al-Aghwar Governorate between 2008 and 2010, [1] [2] and Hebron Governorate between 2010 and 2018, [3] and Bethlehem Governorate between Years 2018 and 2023. [4] [5]
His life [ edit ]
He holds a bachelor's degree in English from Bethlehem University , and a master's degree in educational administration from Al-Quds University .
He was arrested in Israeli occupation prisons nearly 9 times, for a total of six years. [6]
He was appointed as of September 15, 2008 as Governor of Jericho and Al-Aghwar Governorate . [1] [2]
On October 23, 2010, he was appointed governor of Hebron Governorate . [3] It continued until 2018.
In March 2013, he was the most prominent signatory to the Hebron Cry Charter, which was sent to world leaders, demanding the cancellation of the Hebron Agreement signed between the Palestinian Authority and Israel in 1997. [7]
On October 1, 2018, he was appointed Governor of Bethlehem Governorate . [4] On August 10, 2023, President Mahmoud Abbas referred him to retirement. [5]

Medals
On August 17, 2023, President Mahmoud Abbas awarded him the Star of Merit from the State of Palestine Medal , and handed it to them during his meeting to honor the governors who were retiring on August 20, 2023.
