Information
He was born in 1908 in the city of Ramla. He completed his primary studies in Ramla and studied the Holy Qur’an at the hands of Sheikh Muhammad Al-Qadiri, one of the scholars of Ramla. He went to Jerusalem to receive his secondary education at the Bishop’s School, the Friends School in Ramallah, and Cardinal Ferrari (Transanta College). After obtaining his high school diploma, he joined the American University of Beirut and in 1928 received a bachelor’s degree in politics, economics, and the Arabic language. Then he left for London and studied civil administration at the London School of Economics, one of the colleges of the University of London.
In 1932 AD, he returned to Palestine and was appointed as a senior employee in the Publications Office in Jerusalem, where he continued to work until 1935 AD. Then he was transferred to the administration and appointed as a governor in Jerusalem, and moved between Haifa, Jenin, Nablus, Beit Shean, and Ramla. In the summer of 1945, he resigned from the government apparatus and joined the Arab offices. He was appointed head of the Arab office in Washington for a year and a half, then resigned and returned to his hometown.
After the Nakba of 1948 AD, he took refuge in Ramallah, and in the period from 1950 - 1959 AD, Hulusi Al-Khairi served in the Ministries of Economy, Agriculture, Health, and Knowledge, and was elected several times as a member of the Parliament. The Ministry of Economy was the last ministry he held in 1959 AD, after which he left for self-employment, and in 1963 AD he was elected as a member of the delegation that represented Palestine.
