Rasha Abu Sumaya: “At the beginning of the first semester of the first year of my studies at Palestine National University College, and at the beginning of my introduction to my colleagues from different colleges, the first question they asked was: What major are you studying? I answer: I chose to specialize in the Arabic language, and my colleagues begin to show signs of shock and respond with sarcasm! Arab? difficult ! I answer with confidence that this major is the closest major that can qualify me to achieve my childhood dream, which is to work in the field of journalism and media.”
This is what graduate Rasha Abu Somaya said in an interview with the College’s Public Relations Department, where Abu Somaya continued: “During my study period, I never stopped working to achieve my dream, and I did not miss a training course or even a workshop organized by the college or other institutions unless I took the initiative to attend.” And to participate in it, my main goal was not to rely solely on obtaining an academic degree, but rather to produce a CV that would qualify me to obtain a job within a short period of time in light of the high rates of unemployment among Palestinian youth.”
“Indeed, I graduated from Palestine National University College with a bachelor’s degree, a diploma in journalism and media, and multiple training certificates. I currently work at Ma’an TV as a program preparer and presenter, and after only one year has passed since my graduation, I have in my possession a collection of news reports, press investigations, and a program. Ramadan entertainment, and there are plans for new programs to come.”
