Ali and his team put the government sector on the map.
One of the cases raised and adopted by Engineer Ali Shaath was in December 2012, against the decision of the Egyptian Cabinet to contract with Microsoft to purchase licenses for desktop and server software used by the government at a cost of 43 million, 762 thousand, and 321 US dollars, although the government could reduce these expenses to less than 20% of that amount if it resorted to free and open source software , as there are competencies in Egypt capable of implementing government requirements while reducing the cost to the lowest possible level, while extending the life of devices and equipment and their operational life, with the possibility of directing the remaining funds after that to training government employees to increase their skills.
