Ayad Assaf is an academic professional and Assistant Professor specializing in Mechanical Engineering. He completed his PhD at the University of Manchester in the UK from 2002 to 2006, where his research focused on analyzing the deformation of metal plates resulting from bending under a constant or collision force. His specialization and subspecialty both lie in Mechanical Engineering Design. Prior to this, he completed his Master's degree, also in Mechanical Engineering Design at the University of Manchester (2000-2001), with a thesis on designing a large-area force measuring device.
Ayad began his academic journey at Birzeit University in Palestine, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in mechanics, with a thesis on collision device design. He completed his studies at Birzeit from 1992 to 1998 after finishing high school at Azoun Secondary School for Boys in 1997-1998.
