1945, Arrabeh, Jenin. Return to west bank after the war 1967 took part in establishing the PFLP, becoming one of its military and political leaders; joined the DFLP after its breakaway from the PFLP; PNC member since 1969; and member of PLO central council; arrested several times; supported Yasser Abed Rabbo's split from the DFLP in 1990 and was among the founders of FIDA. Candidate during PLC election for Jenin 1996. Secretary General of Fida since 2003.
