Nimr Hammad ( 1941 - September 29 , 2016 ) was the political advisor to Palestinian presidents Yasser Arafat and Mahmoud Abbas .
About his life
He was born in the village of Kweikat in Akka in 1941. He previously served as the Palestinian ambassador to Italy. He served as a political advisor to former Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat , and continued in the same position until his death. He was appointed by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, according to a decree in 2008, to supervise the media institutions affiliated with the presidency, namely: the State Information Service , the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa), and the Radio and Television Corporation.
His death
Hammad died in Beirut on September 29, 2016, and his body was held in the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Beirut.
