Fadi Faisal Hamdi Al-Husseini (October 21, 1975-) is a Palestinian writer , politician and diplomat . He has been serving as the Palestinian Ambassador to Hungary since 2024.
His life
Fadi al-Husseini was born on October 21, 1975 in Gaza City . His father, Faisal Hamdi al-Husseini, is a Palestinian lawyer who served as a legal advisor to President Yasser Arafat , a Supreme Court judge, and a member of the Palestinian National Council . He holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University . In 2000, he obtained a Master's degree with honors from the University of Salento , and has held a PhD since 2016 in International Relations from the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom. He was appointed an official at the Palestinian Council for Foreign Relations, headed by Ziad Abu Amr .
His career
Fadi Al-Husseini began working for the Palestinian Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation in 1998. He worked as a political and media advisor at the Palestinian embassies in Turkey, Egypt and Canada. He was a professor of economic development at Al-Azhar University in Gaza . In 2013, he began working as an associate research fellow at the Middle East Institute in Canada, and then became a member of its board of directors. He has published studies and articles in Arab and Western newspapers.
In 2020, he was appointed Chargé d'Affaires of the Palestinian Embassy to Hungary.
On 15 August 2024, he presented his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Hungary to the Head of Protocol of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Annette Varga. On 25 September 2024, he presented them to the Hungarian President, Támas Solyok.
