PLC member for Nablus (Fatah) 1996-2005; MA in economics from AUB, working as a businessman in Beirut (1973-5), Jordan, Saudi & Nablus (1987-96), where he was the manager of the Vegetable Oil company. Leads Palestinian negotiators in economic talks with Israel, responsible for negotiating the 1994 Paris economic protocol. Brother of Tahir al-Masri – senator, former prime minister of Jordan.
