Muhammad Kamal Hassouna (born March 21, 1942 in Hebron) is a lawyer, lawyer, and economist from the State of Palestine. He held the positions of Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Minister of Public Works and Housing, and Minister of National Economy in Salam Fayyad's first government. He is a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council for the Independent Palestine Bloc.
Childhood and educational attainment
"Muhammad Kamal" Ibrahim Muhammad Hassuna was born in the city of Hebron on March 21, 1942 in the southern West Bank. He received his school education in the city, then left it to the Arab Republic of Egypt to study law, where he obtained a bachelor's degree from Cairo University in 1969.
practical life
Hassouna worked in law for only two years, then went to work in free trade where he contributed to the establishment and establishment of several factories and companies such as the Islamic Takaful Insurance Company, Al-Safa Islamic Bank and the Palestinian Mineral Oils Company (Petrobal). He was also a member of the Red Crescent Society in Hebron and head of the Association The family, the Housing Association in Hebron, and one of the founders of the Association of Businessmen in Ramallah and Jerusalem, and the Federation of Palestinian Industries, which he headed later. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of Bethlehem University, as well as the Board of Trustees of An-Najah National University.
On June 14, 2007, he was appointed Minister of the Ministries of National Economy, Public Works, Housing, Communications and Information Technology in the twelfth Palestinian government headed by Salam Fayyad, and continued until May 19, 2009.
He is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Safa Islamic Bank.
