Ibrahim Muhammad Nassar, a Palestinian leader, was born in the town of Anabta, Tulkarm district, in 1895 AD. He served in the Ottoman army as an officer, then joined the Great Arab Revolt in 1916 AD. He worked as a teacher in schools in northern Palestine for nine years until he was dismissed by the British Mandate government. He wrote poetry And political articles in national newspapers issued in Palestine before the Nakba. He joined the Palestinian national movement and trade union associations. He joined the Palestinian Arab Youth Conference in 1931. He delivered patriotic speeches at national conferences and festivals. At the beginning of the general strike in April 1936, he was appointed as a representative of the National Committee overseeing the insurance of the strike. In Anabta, at the start of the armed revolution, he worked to organize and arm the revolutionaries in the Shaer Valley region. His work and his union and political activity continued after 1943 AD through union associations and national movements such as the National Liberation League, until the catastrophe occurred in 1948 AD, after which he joined the Arab Nationalist Movement.

His birth and educational career
Ibrahim Muhammad Nassar Abd al-Rahman Abd al-Rahim Ahmad al-Ismail was born in the town of Anabta, Tulkarm district, in 1895 AD. He received his basic education at Anabta Primary School, then at the Freire School in Jaffa, and secondary at the Islamic College in Beirut. He was sent by his father, Sheikh Muhammad, who was a judge in the Court of First Instance of the Judiciary. Bani Saab Tulkarm to study at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Cairo, where he stayed for two years, after which he stopped continuing his studies with the beginning of the First World War in 1914 AD. In the middle of 1916, he left his position in the Ottoman army to fight under the banner of the Arab Revolt on the Hejaz front and then on the East Jordan front.

And he spoke in a letter he sent to the Department of Education, including his education and joining the Great Arab Revolt, saying: “I happened to be ignited by the great war and broke out, so fate drove me to the army, and I served for nearly two years. Hazrat Nassib Bek Al-Bakri attributed me to be a clerk in the office of Prince Faisal, so I stayed for a few months, then joined the fighting forces and served for three years as an officer, first lieutenant, agent, and agent of Yuzbashi, until the coup of Syria took place and the government left it and entered France.

He wrote poetry and political articles in national newspapers published in Palestine before the Nakba; Such as the Al-Karmel and Al-Tabl newspapers published in Haifa, and Al-Zumar newspapers published in Acre, in addition to the newspapers of Defense, Palestine, and the Islamic University, which were published in Jaffa, as well as the Arab League newspaper published in Jerusalem.

his political career
He joined the first Arab Youth Conference when it was established in December 1931 AD. He was secretary of the National Education and Knowledge Committee headed by Mr. Nimr al-Masry, in addition to his participation in other files, and a member of the General Nation Fund emanating from the conference; His mission was to save the Arab lands in Palestine and prevent them from falling into the hands of the Jews, and to educate the Palestinian farmer to preserve and adhere to his land, then he worked as an official for the Executive Committee’s office in the second conference in Jaffa in 1935 AD, which took it upon himself to confront the Zionist movement and the British Mandate, and to spread propaganda for the Palestinian cause. . In addition to his affiliation with the Arab Youth Association, which was founded in 1932 and is one of the tributaries of the Youth Conference and its goal is to educate Arab youth.

He established the Arab Workers’ Association in Anabta in August 1934, with the aim of supervising the organization of the workers’ movement in the town, preserving their rights, and seeking to find work for the unemployed among them. Then he was elected secretary of the Arab Workers Association in Jaffa and its spokesman. The association was founded in September 1934, headed by trade unionist Michel Mitri, and his work continued until mid-August 1935.

Through his membership in the Arab Youth Conference, he delivered speeches denoting the danger surrounding the issue of Palestine and public mobilization, through official and popular events. To define the dangers to which Palestine is exposed. When Prince Saud bin Abdul Aziz visited Anabta on August 14, 1935 AD, he also delivered a patriotic sermon to introduce the danger that threatens their existence in Palestine and its people.

At the beginning of the general strike in April 1936, he was appointed as a representative of the National Committee in Anabta, which worked to organize and secure the strike in the town, in addition to raising petitions to protest against the policy of the British Mandate government towards the residents of Arab villages.

He died on Friday, January 18, 1985 AD, at the age of 90, and was buried in Anabta.
