Eman Khatib
The Arab representative in the occupation entity, Iman Khatib, made her way to the Israeli Knesset, to become the first member of the Israeli parliament to wear the hijab, demanding the rights of Arabs and the state of Palestine.
Khatib, 55, won a seat on the Joint List list, which won 15 seats in the 120-member Knesset.
Iman, a mother of four, was working as a director of a social center in the village of Yafa al-Nazareth in the Galilee, on the outskirts of Nazareth, before she entered the arena of national politics.
