Muhammad Qasim Asaad Al-Asaad (born October 10 , 1958 in Beirut ) is a Palestinian diplomat . He served as Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Ukraine in the period 2010–2019. [2] He currently holds the position of Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Mauritania since April 1, 2021.
Growing up and educational attainment
Muhammad Qasim Al-Asaad was born on October 10, 1958 in Beirut , Lebanon . In 1986, he graduated from the Russian Peoples' Friendship University . In 1985, he obtained a master's degree in civil engineering from the same university, and also in 1990, he obtained a doctorate in technical sciences from it.
Scientific life
Al-Asaad worked in several positions:
Al-Asaad was at the head of the Palestinian cultural centers in Moscow , Tashkent and Baku between 1990 and 1995. He was also a representative of the Fatah movement to the Soviet Union and later Russia between 1990 and 2010.
Between 1995 and 2000, he became the first secretary of the Palestinian Embassy in Russia . [4] Between 2006 and 2010, he was Vice President of the Palestinian Community in Russia and Head of the Foreign Relations Department.
In 2010, he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Ukraine and continued in the position until 2019.
In December 2020, he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Mauritania , and on April 1, 2021 he presented his credentials.
