Hussein Salim Al Husseini. The mayor of Jerusalem from 1910 to 1917, the son of Salim al-Husayni, who was in turn the mayor of Jerusalem at the end of the nineteenth century, and after the Ottoman army was defeated by the English army in southern Palestine, the Turkish administrator commissioned Husayn al-Husayni to hand over the keys to the city of Jerusalem to the English So that its holy sites would not be destroyed. Al-Husseini died in 1918, weeks after the British entered Jerusalem, and his brother Musa Kazem Al-Husseini took over as mayor of Jerusalem.
