Iyad Abd al-Karim Khader Jallad (born on January 13, 1960 in Tulkarm - died on August 3, 2017 in Tulkarm) is a Palestinian politician, economist and businessman, a leader in the Fatah movement, and the mayor of Tulkarm from December 2009 until October 16 2016. He was the first elected mayor in The first elections to be held since 1976. The elections were held on October 20, 2012. He is a member of the Palestinian National Council in the Palestine Liberation Organization (the Palestinian parliament).
Iyad Abdul Karim Khader Jallad was born in the city of Tulkarm in the West Bank on January 13, 1960. He received his primary, preparatory and secondary education in the schools of his city of Tulkarm. He attended Oklahoma State University in the United States of America, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He worked as a Marketing Manager at Dhahran Chemical Industries Company in Saudi Arabia.
Iyad Al-Jallad died in the city of Tulkarm on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at the age of 57, after a severe heart attack, and an official, military and popular funeral was held for him in his hometown of Tulkarm, where he was buried.
He was mourned by Palestinian leaders and organizations, Fatah movement, and official Palestinian security and civil institutions.
On September 25, 2017, the Palestinian National Authority and the Fatah movement held a grand memorial ceremony for him after his death. The deputy head of the Fatah movement, Mahmoud al-Aloul, Issam Abu Bakr, Talal Dwaikat, Abdullah Kamil, a number of Palestinian leaders, and members of the Palestinian Revolutionary Council participated in the ceremony.
