Ali Al-Sartawi was born in the village of Sarta, west of Salfit Governorate. He received his primary education at the village school, and obtained his secondary education from Bidya Secondary School in 1985 with a grade of very good, then completed his education at the University of Jordan in 1988 to obtain a bachelor’s degree in jurisprudence and legislation, after which he completed He studied at the university to obtain a master's degree in 1992, and a doctorate in 1997.
