Hazem Atallah, whose real name is Ahmad Atallah Muhammad Atallah (born on August 18, 1959 - ) is a Palestinian military and politician with the rank of major general. He served as Director General of the Palestinian Civil Police from March 25, 2008 until October 2, 2021.
Educational attainment
Hazem Atallah graduated from the Military College in Bulgaria in the early 1980s, and also graduated from Naif Arab University for Security Sciences in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
practical life
After his return to the Palestinian territories, he worked in the Department of Maintaining Order and Intervention in the Police, then moved to work in the Palestinian Preventive Security Service and held the position of director of the device’s directorate in the Jenin governorate, later heading the International and External Relations Department in the device. He was a military secretary to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
On March 25, 2008, he was appointed Director-General of the Palestinian Police Service and was promoted from the rank of brigadier general to the rank of major general.
He was appointed on 14 September 2008 as a member of the committee to study the security plan submitted by the Security Reform Team.
On September 19, 2008, he was appointed as a member of the Committee for the Restructuring of the Department of Political and National Orientation and Evaluation of its Work.
