Ibrahim Shakir Mahmoud Khreisha (born 1 January 1966) is a Palestinian politician, born in the Palestinian city of Tulkarm,Secretary General of the Second Palestinian Legislative Council, and a member of Fatah's Revolutionary Council.
Upbringing and educational attainment
Ibrahim Shaker Mahmoud Khreisha was born in the West Bank city of Tulkarm on January 1, 1966, he received his primary, preparatory and secondary education in the schools of his city of Tulkarm, and obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration from Birzeit University in 1996, then a master's degree in international studies in 2001 from the same university, and then a bachelor's degree in law in 2012. Political career
In 2000 he served as coordinator of the committees of the Palestinian Legislative Council, then in early 2006 he became the general rapporteur of the PLC, and in 2009 he won elections to the Fatah Revolutionary Council to become a member.
Tulkarm's internal crisis 2016
In the summer of 2016, an internal crisis broke out in the city of Tulkarm between Fatah on the one hand, and the security services under the directives of then-Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, who resides in the city of Tulkarm on the other;[ against the backdrop of the electricity crisis in the Tulkarm municipality. The Palestinian security services carried out large-scale arrest campaigns targeting Fatah cadres in the city after their posts on the social networking site «Facebook» about the electricity crisis and the government and its Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah. In light of this, dozens of Fatah cadres resigned from their official duties in the movement in protest against the situation.
On the evening of Thursday, August 4, 2016, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas chaired an urgent meeting to follow up on the crisis and issued a decision to conclude an immediate agreement between Fatah in Tulkarm and the security services, so that the agreement would eliminate the release of all Fatah detainees, work to resolve the crises of the Tulkarm municipality calmly, and arrest the instigators from all sides, but the agreement quickly failed the next morning (Friday, August 5, 2016) After beating the Secretary General of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Ibrahim Khreisheh, and spraying pepper gas on him in front of his home in Tulkarm, after Palestinian security forces raided his neighborhood in the city, Khreisha was transferred to the city's Zakat Hospital.
