The film
"Astrobia" by Palestinian director Ahmed Hassouna won the Best
Screenplay Award at the International Festival of Cinema and Migration in
Oujda, Maghreb, in its ninth session.
The events of
the feature film revolve around a group of Palestinian youths who were pushed
by life circumstances to migrate from the Gaza Strip in 2012, to lose track of
their traces after boarding a smuggling boat from the shores of Alexandria in
Egypt.
Hassouna is a
film director from the Gaza Strip, who has produced a number of documentaries
and artworks and media. And he won the first place award for the short film
category “The Child and the Family” at the Al Jazeera Documentary Film Festival
2014 for the movie “Strings Broken”.
