Ala Rabah Ashour Atallah (1980-2023) is a Palestinian journalist who was martyred during the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip in Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa , along with her family, in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza on December 9, 2023.

Ala Atallah was born in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City on October 31, 1980.

She studied primary school at Al-Fellah School, preparatory school at Al-Ramla School, and secondary school at Al-Zahraa School. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Media from the Islamic University of Gaza in 2002, with honors. She worked with several media institutions during her journalistic career spanning more than twenty years, including a correspondent for the Itilaf Al-Khair website between the years (2000-2005), as well as a correspondent for the Islam Online Network and the Jordanian newspaper Al-Sabil between the years (2005-2011). She worked as a correspondent for the Anadolu Agency from Gaza between the years (2011-2017), as well as with the Hespress newspaper , the correspondent website, and the Muwatin Network . Before her martyrdom, Ola documented all the events of the Israeli war of extermination in the Gaza Strip. 

Her martyrdom

Journalist Ala Atallah was killed along with eight members of her family, including three children, on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a house belonging to relatives where she and her family had taken refuge in the Daraj neighborhood. Activists said that she was killed along with her brother, his wife, their three children, her cousin, and her cousin’s daughter. 

She wrote in her last post before her martyrdom on the “X” platform:

" How many nights of terror and death must Gaza count? How many days of loss, absence and pain must it count? How many hours of hunger, thirst and cold, of illness, displacement and alienation must it count? How many departed, weeping and grieving must it count so that the curse of reckoning falls and the cruelty of numbers disappears? "
