Motasem A Dalloul is a journalist and opinion writer based in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. Born in 1979, finished his secondary school in 1997, and finished his BA in English literature in 2001. He obtained his MA International Journalism from the University of Westminster in London in 2011/2012. He worked as a PR head officer in a Palestinian NGO from 2001 to 2004. He started working in the field of journalism in 2004 as apprentice in the Gaza based Ramattan News Agency. He became a news producer in Ramattan and continued working until 2008. He wrote for aljazeera.ne/English, Egypt today, IOL and other English websites. He writes opinion articles criticizing and commenting on several political issues related to the Palestinian cause. He, with a couple of other journalists, belongs to a new young generation of Islamic liberals in the Palestinian political arena. He was chased by the Government of his country because of the critical language and theme of his writings. He is married and has 8 children.
