Information
Valantina Abu Oqsa (born 1967) is a Palestinian actress, theater director, poet and playwright.
She was born in Ma'lea village, in the Upper Galilee, north of Palestine, on 3 December 1967. She now lives in Haifa with her husband and children.
Abu Oqsa is a member of the management of the tenth International Women Playwrights Conference (WPIC) in Cape Town. In 1986, she started her career in theatre with Al Hakawati Theatre Group in Jerusalem after a year and a half of studying theatre in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. She is one of the co-founders of the Palestinian Theatre League in Jerusalem.
She is the August 2012 winner of the Etel Adnan Award, Stockholm.
