Nour Odeh is a Palestinian political analyst, activist, researcher, diplomatic advisor, journalist, author, and former spokesperson for the Palestinian Authority. She is particularly known for being the first government spokeswoman in Palestine. She is a founding member of the National Democratic Forum for Palestine.
her career
Nour has been a freelance communications consultant in the media industry and as a freelance journalist for over 20 years. She also worked as a senior correspondent for Al Jazeera English in the West Bank for five years from 2006 to 2011. In addition, she worked as a communications consultant and public diplomacy advisor to the Palestinian government. In 2012, she was appointed as a government spokesperson, thus becoming the first Palestinian woman to serve as a government spokesperson. She was a candidate for the Palestinian Legislative Council in the 2012-2013 Palestinian local elections. She also appears as a regular guest on several global news outlets such as Al Jazeera.
