Ahmed Youssef Al-Hassan (25 June 1925 - 28 April 2012) was a Palestinian scholar and historian. He was born in the village of Mushairfa near Umm al-Fahm during the British Mandate over Palestine. He was educated at the Arab College in Jerusalem; Holds a Syrian passport in addition to Canadian citizenship, holder of the French Legion of Honor, historian of Arab and Islamic sciences and technology, and holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of London. He worked at the University of Aleppo and was Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and later as President of the University of Aleppo, where he founded the Institute of Arab Scientific Heritage in Aleppo, and was its first director. He was also Minister of Petroleum, Mineral Resources and Electricity in Syria.
