Information
Khalil Hindi ( 1944- ) is a Palestinian scientist , professor and academic. He was born in the village of Tantura near Haifa in 1944 , and lived with his family as a refugee from 1948 until 1962 in the city of Tulkarm in Palestine. He received a scholarship that led him to Lebanon to study at the American University of Beirut . He lived in England (in the cities of Manchester and London ) between 1971 and 2002 when he began working at the American University of Beirut. In addition to scientific research, he wrote occasionally on Palestinian and Arab affairs. He was appointed President of Birzeit University at the beginning of the 2010-2011 academic year.
His academic achievement
He received his primary, intermediate and secondary education in the schools of Tulkarm city ; where he studied at Al-Fadhiliyah School in the city, then obtained a bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degree in electrical engineering , in addition to a higher doctorate in administrative sciences.
Career
From December 2008 to August 2010, Hindi served as Associate Dean and Chair of Management Sciences at the School of Business at the American University of Beirut. From December 2002 to December 2008, he was both Chair of Engineering Management at the School of Engineering and Chair of Management Sciences at the School of Business at the American University of Beirut. From December 1998 to December 2002, he was Chair of Systems Engineering at Brunel University in England. For ten years until 1998, Dr. Hindi taught at the University of Manchester and for eight years at South Bank University in London.
He is also active in volunteer work; a member of the Board of Trustees of the Abdul Mohsen Qattan Foundation , a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Palestine Studies , and the General Assembly of the Welfare Association. He was also a member of the General Authority of the Palestine Investment Fund .

Consulting activities
Indian has worked as a consultant for several companies, including Unilever Research Laboratories, Aquatic Research Centre, Jaguar Cars, Friskies Limited (a subsidiary of Nestle) and several small and medium enterprises.
