Information
Iqbal Al-Asaad is the youngest
doctor in the world. She joined Weill Coronel College to study medicine in
Qatar before she was over 13 years old. She was able to shorten the ranks of
her previous studies in the Bekaa Valley with distinction that enabled her to
well deserve the title of the first doctor in the world in terms of age. She
entered the Guinness Book of Records, after graduating from medical school, to
win a second world record after winning the title of the youngest university
student, when she was thirteen years old.

Iqbal Mahmoud al-Asaad was born on
February 2, 1993, to a Palestinian father and a Lebanese mother. Her origins go
back to the village of Maghar al-Khayt in Safed. At the time of the Nakba, her
family sought refuge in the Bekaa region in Lebanon, where her grandfather and
his children worked in agriculture.

I finished the kindergarten stage
in only one year, and the six primary classes were shortened by three years,
while I finished the preparatory stages in only two years, and then the
secondary stage with distinction. She received the scholarship of Sheikha
Mozah, wife of the Emir of the State of Qatar, and says:
Iqbal al-Asaad I was overwhelmed with happiness that day. The Minister
of Education at that time, Khaled Qabbani, summoned me to inform me of the
happy news. I was very happy knowing about the reputation of the college, as
well as the fact that I received a comprehensive scholarship with all expenses

Iqbal intends to specialize in
pediatrics, so she will go next June to the “Cleveland Clinic” in the US state
of Ohio, where she was accepted there to work and study as a resident doctor.
Achievements and Awards
Honoring
After obtaining the high school
diploma, the Minister of Education at the time, Khaled Qabbani, invited her,
honored her, and promised her a scholarship. She received a scholarship from
Sheikha Mozah, and studied general medicine in Qatar.
