Dr. Ibrahim Awad currently serves as the Dean of the College of Business and Economics. In addition to his role as a professor in Business Economics and Applied Economics, he is also a member of the Joint University Network with the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard Business School in the United States.
He earned his Ph.D. in Business Economics and Applied Economics from Leipzig University, Germany in 2010. His research interests include Business Economics, Competitiveness and Entrepreneurship, Economic Development, and Financial Economics.
Dr. Awad has published numerous scientific research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and has participated in many international conferences in the fields of Business Economics. Recently, one of his research papers was accepted for presentation at the annual conference of the renowned Michael Porter's Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard Business School.
Dr. Awad has received the Distinguished Researcher Award at both the College of Business and Economics and the University of Jerusalem on multiple occasions.
He is a member of the Economic Research Forum (ERF) and serves as an editorial board member and reviewer for several international journals in the field of economics and business.
Dr. Awad has made several academic visits to various international universities, including being a visiting professor at Bocconi University in Germany and the University of Iowa in the United States. He has also visited Harvard Business School, Royal College of London in England, Technical University of Munich, University of Karlsruhe, University of Göttingen, Technical University of Mannheim, and Technical University of Aachen in Germany, as well as Masaryk University in the Czech Republic.
Dr. Awad is one of the founders of the College of Economics and Business Administration at the University of Jerusalem. He has served as Deputy Dean and has also been the Head of the Economics Department at the University of Jerusalem for several periods.
