A Palestinian medical researcher won the Best Scientific Research Award at an annual neurosurgery conference held in Louisiana.
Researcher Nimr Adeeb Abu Shehab, who is currently a neurosurgeon in the United States, presented research related to the use of blood thinners prior to retinal operations used to treat aneurysms.
The results of this research led to a change in the treatment mechanism used in the United States and Canada, after it was published in Stroke magazine.
Abu Shehab is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at An-Najah National University. This is the second award that this research has received, after it was honored as the best scientific research at the annual conference of the American Neurosurgical Society last year, and it was presented in the opening paragraph of the conference.
