Dr. Osman Ismail Al-Tal holds a Ph.D. in Islamic History from the United Kingdom (Britain) and currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts. He began working at the university in 2005 and teaches courses in Ancient History and Islamic History. He has also been involved in various college committees and has chaired the Department of History from 2010 to 2012 and again from 2018 to 2020.
Dr. Al-Tal has participated in the examination of around 20 master's theses at both An-Najah National University and Al-Khalil University. He has contributed to the development of the Palestinian Social Studies curriculum for the academic year 2017-2018, supervised by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Palestine. Additionally, he teaches courses on Islamic thought and contemporary Palestinian history at Al-Quds University.
Outside of academia, Dr. Al-Tal is a member of several private institutions. He has served as a general body member and former administrative member of the Youth Club of Al-Thahiriya Sports Club. He was also a former member of the local committee for rehabilitating people with disabilities in Al-Thahiriya and is a member of the General Assembly of the Palestinian Union of Persons with Disabilities (Special Needs).
Dr. Al-Tal has published approximately 20 peer-reviewed research papers in both Arabic and English. His contributions to scholarly journals have been recognized, and he has received acknowledgments from the Research Dean's Office at the university for his research paper publications, with the latest acknowledgment during the academic year 2020-2021.
