Hamed Abdelhaq is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at An-Najah National University - Palestine. He received his PhD in Machine Learning, Natural Text Processing and Spatial Information Analysis from Heidelberg University in Germany. He received his BA and MA degrees from the University of Jordan in Amman - Jordan. After receiving his MA, he worked as a lecturer at An-Najah National University in the Department of Computer Science from 2007 to 2011. He then received a DAAD scholarship to complete his studies and obtain his PhD from Germany. The thesis topic revolved around discovering different events, activities and activities related to time and place by analyzing what is published on social media sites.
Hamed also worked as a data analyst at Moovel Group, a subsidiary of parent company Daimler. His role at the company was to build recommendation systems to improve transportation. Hamed also worked as a data mining consultant at SocialDice, designing a system to automatically rank resumes using machine learning tools.
