Pharmacist Abdul Ghani Muhammad Anabtawi was born in Nablus in 1924. He studied at Al-Khalidiya School and Al-Salahiya School, and graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the American University of Beirut in 1949. He practiced pharmacy immediately after graduation. He became a member of the Board of Deans of An-Najah College in 1975. He was part of the team that decided to develop the Teachers' Training College into a university, which began accepting students in 1977. Consequently, he became a member of the university's first Board of Trustees and its Vice President. The members of the Board were: Hikmat Al-Masri, Ibrahim Sanoubar, Fadwa Touqan, Shawkat Zaid Al-Kilani, Yusra Salah, Rashid Mar'i, Musa Al-Jayousi, Abdul Ghani Anabtawi, Hani Arafat, Ahmad Sururi, Jawdat Tuffaha, and Midhat Kanaan. He became Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees in 1995. He contributed to the establishment of the National Company for Aluminum and Profiles.
