Born in Bruqin village (a Palestinian town located 13 kilometers west of Salfit in the Salfit Governorate of the northern West Bank); he holds a Licentiate, MA and a PhD in Sociology; head of the Palestine Scientific Council; member of the Palestinian National Council, a part-time lecturer in many Palestinian Universities, he was arrested by the Israeli Authorities during the second Intifada in 21-4-2001 for two months.
