Thawra Hawamdeh (born in 1990 in Al-Samou’) is a Palestinian writer who won the Katara Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2018. She has two published novels.
Biography
Thawra Hawamed was born in 1990 in the village of Al-Samou’, south of Hebron, Palestine, where she completed her school education. She studied political science at Hebron University, and “traditional cultural heritage” at the University of Tunis. She began literary writing at the age of thirteen, and her first novel, “No Far Moon,” was published in 2014. In 2017, she published her novel, “Paradise.. Its Apple Did Not Fall,” for which she won the Katara Award for Arabic Fiction in the category of novel published in 2018.
