Samih Sharif Yahya Nasr (August 9, 1931 - March 10, 2023) Jordanian - Palestinian writer and poet . He was born in Balaa in Tulkarm . He completed high school in Baghdad , and obtained a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Baghdad , 1953. He then worked as a teacher, employee, and director in the Engineering Investments Company, then owned a commercial establishment that he managed himself. He is one of the founders of the Jordanian Authors and Writers Union and the Qalam Family Club. He has many poetry collections and political and intellectual books.
His biography
Samih Sharif Yahya was born on August 9, 1931/Rabi’ al-Awwal 25, 1350 in Bala’a , Tulkarm . He obtained a high school diploma from Baghdad and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Baghdad in 1953.
He then worked as head of the accounting department at the Electricity Company in Irbid from 1964 to 1969, and as director of the National Union in Zarqa from 1971 to 1973. He was appointed director of the Information Department and secretary of the Supreme Executive Committee of the National Union. In Amman in 1973, in addition to his work in the field of trade. During the sixties, he edited Al-Thaqafa newspaper in Amman Al-Massa , and had a column in Al-Rai and Al- Quds newspapers under the title “Voice . ” He was a member of the advisory committee for Afkar magazine, issued by the Ministry of Culture. He is a founding member of the Jordanian Writers and Writers Union, and the Qalam Family Cultural Club in Zarqa. He assumed the presidency of the Qalam Family Club from 1974 to 1984. He was also a member of the Jordanian Writers Association .
