Asaad Abdel Rahman is an Arab writer , researcher , and political analyst specializing in Palestinian issues and the Arab-Israeli conflict .

Born in Jerusalem , he became involved in the “ Arab Nationalist Movement ” and worked as an assistant to Ghassan Kanafani in editing the Palestine Supplement of the “ Al-Muharrir ” newspaper. Fayez Sayegh appointed him as a principal researcher at the “ Palestinian Research Center .” One of the first members of the “ Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, ” he spent a year in Israeli prisons and was later deported from Palestine .

He is also the founder and CEO of the Palestine International Foundation (for Research and Services), which is concerned with establishing a broad bridge of interaction in two directions: the first connects communities of Arab origin, and all friends of the Palestinian people with the Palestinian cause/country/state, and the second connects the latter with the communities themselves.

Bachelor’s degree (1965) and Master’s degree (1967) in Public Administration - American University of Beirut .
Doctorate in Political Science, University of Calgary , Alberta, Canada (1973).

From 1983 until now, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Palestinian Encyclopedia Authority , and Chairman of the Scientific Committee supervising the continued development of the Encyclopedia.
Director General of the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation 1981 - 1996.
Since 2015 - 2019, member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Jordan.
He is also a member of the Palestinian National Council , a member of the Palestinian Central Council , and a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
