Born in Ayn Ghazal village (was a Palestinian Arab village located 21 kilometers (13 mi) south of Haifa) 1939. In 1948 (Al-Nakba), his family emigrated to Baghdad where he received his MA in Literature 1976; PhD from University of Baghdad; lecturer at the Al-Mustansiriyah University since 1966; member of the Iraqi Writers Union; member of the General Union of Palestinian Writers and Journalists.
