Dr. Subhi Taher Dajani (Abu Jarir) (born in Jerusalem in 1910), who was blind, established first school for the blind in Hebron and then was moved to al-Bireh, near the Friends Boys School in in 1949. He was the first blind person to attend AUB. He was also the first to publish the Holy Koran in Braille.
Dajani became prominent in taking care of the blind people in the Arab World. Died in 1975.
