Information
Born in Jerusalem 1909, finished his education at the Bishop's School, he then joined the American University and spent two years there; received his BA in Literature from the University of London 1934; earned his PhD from the same university, he then returned to Jerusalem where he was appointed as an archaeology inspector at the Palestinian Museum in Jerusalem then as chairman 1945. After al-Nakba (1948), he was appointed as an associate professor at the American University of Beirut (AUB).
